WHITEHEAD/MARINER FISHING CREEL LARGE AND VERY RARE
This is a very rare steelhead size creel woven by the great Daryll Whitehead and leathered by Freeman Mariner. There were only about a dozen creels made by these incredible craftsman and I have never seen another on the market. If you are a creel collector you know that the book"The Art of the Creel" was dedicated to Whitehead and that most of the best creels pictured were from his massive collection. Several of his creels are also featured in the book. This creel is quite large and the weaving is just spectacular. Sure to be the focal point of any great collection. There are several guys who re-leather old creels but I don't know of any others that actually weave their own baskets. SUPER! Near Mint Condition Vintage Split Willow& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel. Found in Bozeman. Montana one of the centers of Blue Ribbon Trout Fishing in the World! It is in Amazing Condition- a couple of light stains to the leather but otherwise perfect! Lots of Great Photos to Confirm the Condition! The willow weave is tight and without flaw or damage. The leather is in Great Condition- no tears, rips or cuts of any kind, just the previously mentioned light staining in spots. The Creel is marked on the bottom- 15 MADE IN JAPAN. The Strap is also Great. It has inches marked off on the top back of the creel for measuring the catch. One nearly identical just sold for $200 on Ebay but this one is even better. It is a bag that successful fisherman sling over their shoulder or under their arm, and provides a place to stow your catch, while keeping them cold and fresh. It is made of flax fromScotland. As long as you keep it wet(dipping it in the spring-fed water) your fish will stay fresh while you continue to fish. There is a rubber apron layer on the back to keep the fisherman dry. Vintage FISHING CREEL Wicker Leather strapping
This is a very nice looking. Vintage, fishing creel made of wicker with leather trim and decoration sewn onto the basket. There is a green. Cloth, web strap that is fixed to more leather strapping. It measures about 14" by 5" at the base and 12" by6" at the top. The highest stance is about 8.5" tall. Condition: The wicker is in very nice shape with no breaks or damage. The cloth strap is in very good shape with no tears. The metal rings and buckles all have rust and corrosion. The leather is very dry and shows wear. The thin strap is broken. The belt strap is also broken. The front strap has broken off and is missing. The leather lid trim has broken/missing piece on the corner. Overall. It is barn fresh and could use a good cleaning. I am offering an antique(1920s- 1930s) McMonies. Portland, Oregon, fishing creel strap. This is the number 6 or the number 9. I am not sure of how to read the number stamped on the strap. The leather strap is impressed with a design and is flexible but needs cleaning. The creel measures approximately ten inches tall; 13 inches across the front; and 7 1/2 inches wide. This is a Neptune Outboard Boat Motor. It is Model L5B1 Serial number is 15565. It is in very good condition for its age. There is a few small dents in the gas tank. The water intake pipe appears in good shape, the lower front ridge before prop has some small damage looks from a rock but nothing that hurts the function and should be easy to fix/fill if needed. The motor turns freely and feels like it has good compression. I did not try to start it! Prop is very good. Original condition, with some cleaning that we did! Old Vintage Wicker Fishing Creel w 1953 PA Fishing License Pin 13"+
Great old wicker fishing creel. I believe the old wicker creel is from the 1940's or early 50's but maybe older. It has a 1953 Pennsylvania fishing license pin on the front of it. The wicker is very good and solid and the leather binding is good except as noted in the description. Leather on the handle is rough and the leather strap is broken and rough. Front buckle is missing where fishing license is pinned. The overall length is 13+" Would make a great display piece.
