In the back shelve of a community store, way, way, back covered in dust was this vintage made in Taiwan trout, fly fishing creel, basket. This basket does not have shoulder straps because it secures on your belt! The lid has a printed ruler to measure your trout. Right next to the opening to drop that fish in. I’m surprise how well it cleaned up. And no broken reeds. Great for cabin and fishing décor. Measurements are: 7 1/2" high by 15" long by 7" wide. Gorgeous basket is in excellent condition for its age, has brass feet, leather lid and trim, rope handles, brass latch and more. Please see all pictures. There is a piece of leather that goes around the top edge of the rope straps that needs to be reattached. Measures approximately 9" high by 13" wide and 8" in depth. The straps hang about 10" long. Old OD canvas fish creel in used condition. It is from the estate of a WWII collector. Fits right in with military items. I doubt it was military issue. Probably made by one of the companies making canvas and leather items for the war effort. Front pouch has a tear and front pouch waterproof liner is crackly. Bottom is made of Masonite. This is a very niceTrout Fly Fishing Creel w Leather Straps. ts in such nice shape that I asked the old timer who owned it wheater it was striclty used as a display. He was quick to tell me he used it every season but took pains to not only clean it but throw on a coat of varnish! So it has a nice gloss to it that will protect it for many year to come. The only damage I noted is one broken mesh stick at the square opening at the top. Also the bottom buckle leather strap is broken-see picture. Other then that. This creel is in great shape. Not sure of it's age, so I am not going to use the word'vintage" You also get a all wood fly fishing net. In great condition, no holes in the net. Made by Walker. VINTAGE ANTIQUE? WILLOW WICKER FISHING CREEL BASKET LODGE CABIN DECOR
This is a vintage. Possible antique, fishing creel. At one time. It had a wicker loop for the wooden dowel latch and this is no longer intact and will have to be fixed. It has a rope shoulder strap. There are a couple bent. Broken or missing reeds on the lid, but the body of the basket is in very nice condition. Would be perfect as is for lodge decor or with a floral or greenery arrangement inside, the small flaws in lid would not be visible and you would not need to use the latch. Measures about 11 1/2 x 5 inches on the bottom and is about 6 inches tall. The rope is plenty long enough for a shoulder strap with a 19 inch drop. It also has a wicker wrapped handing loop/ handle on back. I acquire my items at estate sales. And unless otherwise stated should be expected in good vintage condition. These items are not new. VINTAGE FISH CREEL AND OTHER CANVAS BAGS
Up for auction is a Vintage Canvas unnamed Creel. Size is approx. 10 X 12 inches. It has a canvas strap sewn to the bag and is in very good shape. There are two zippers on the bag. The one on top for the fish compartment and one on the side for the weatherproof pocket. The plastic liner in in very good shape and I could not find any weather rot or cracks in it. Both zippers work well. The wire mesh underneath is totally intact and I could not find any holes in it. Even the leather type binding on top is not cracked or broken. The bag is dirty but in very good condition for it's age. On the other bags there are two have moon pouches that are 4 X 5 1/2 inches in the closed position. There are two cotton pads on one side of the inside pouch. They close with velcro so they can't be that old. The darker canvas bag looks military but has ... moreno numbers on it. Size of the bag is 7 1/2 X 9 inches appox. It has a button closure on the flap. The lighter colored bag has a drawstring for a closure and is 9 X 11 inches approx. Creel looks to have been used very little. Inside is very clean. Leather straps are solid and supple but could stand to be oiled. Lid is tied on with heavy cord, apparently the original owner didn't care for the original set up. Doesn't take away from the creel, gives it a folky look. The coolest thing about it is the clasp is actually shaped like a trout! Never seen one done like this before, very nice accent. Has an embossed ruler along the back edge of the top for measuring your catch. No maker's mark that I can see. The end part of the strap that buckles the top closed is missing. Vintage Antique Wicker & Leather Fishing Creel Basket ,Pocket
this old fishing basket is 14 1/2" wide at the bottom and 8" high. It looks very old and has some hand sewing on it. On the leather. There are snaps on the pocket pouch. The shoulder strap is missing, and there is just one leather loop at the back. It is in need of leather polish, as it is stiff and was hard to get the lid down. There is some wear on it as you can see in my photos. But it would look nice as decoration, maybe with a plant in it? Vintage Wicker Fishing Creel Tackle Box with Seat and Canvas Strap Hard to find vintage wicker fishing creel. Tackle box and seat combination. I have found very few on the internet and have not been able to find out much about it. From what I have found I believe it to be English but can not be sure. The bottom is wicker with wood braces inside giving it a sturdy frame. It sits on four very small wooden feet. It has a tin tray in the top for storage as you can see in pictures. I have seen others which have a second wooden tray for tackle which this one did not come with or is missing. The top is particle board covered with a padded vinyl like material with tacks on the side as you can see in pictures.It is in very good condition overall with just a couple of minor splinters in the wicker as you can see in pictures. First I have to say that I am no creel expert but the following is what I observed about this creel. I have seen the material used to build this creel called Rattan. Wicker, split willow and split wicker I'm positive I don't know what the material is. As you can see the creel is missing the strap, and the leather closure in the front. One of the two leather hinges for the top is there but broken. The leather is not dry to the point of being brittle but could use a drink. I found no markings on the creel as to maker. What I did find unusual about this creel is that its so narrow measuring only about 4" also the slanted bottom although not rare is certainly not the norm. I purchased this creel from a 82 year old ... moregentleman who claimed it was his fathers and that's the best I can do on dating. The creel measures approximately 15" wide 9" tall as measured down the back and 4" thick. This old fishing basket is a larger one.16" long and 9" high, 5" deep without the leather pocket. There is hand sewing on it, with leather trim. It looks to be very old and is in rough condition in places, as shown in my pictures. Vintage Wicker Fishing Creel Leather Hinges Canvas Strap EXC COND
This is a vintage wicker creel. With leather hinges as pictured and a canvas strap attached(as pictured too) There are also openings in the back for another strap. It measures approx. 16" x 9" x 9-1/2 tall" It's in excellent condition, with only one*partial* break in the wicker(as pictured! and otherwise beautiful, tight weaving throughout. The stitching is in perfect shape. There is a little bit of residue, like maybe salt residue on the leather, but otherwise it's all clean. The strap drop is 22" from peak of strap to top of lid) and looks newer than the creel itself. There is no brand or characteristic marking, as far as I can tell, but I am in the Portland, OR area, fwiw. It will be wrapped carefully to avoid any damage in transit and shipped the first business day following cleared paypal payment. Estate Find! CLARK FLY FISHING CREEL Made by Clark Saddlery pre 1927 Up for auction is a vintage. HAND-MADE CLARK fly fishing creel Made by the Clark Saddlery Co. Circa pre 1927. This creel is hard to find and considered to be one of the most sought after creels. It is clean with what appears to be an old repair on the top. It is tightly woven with hand tooled dark leather.The leather is hand tooled with a snake pattern on the creel and strap. The flap is back stamped 1-9 to measure your catch. The latch strap has a slight tear that could be repaired. There is the#2 stamped underneath the shoulder strap. It has premium-style buck stitching with no separation. The measurements are: 14 inches wide x 8 inches deep x 9 inches tall. The leather is in good but stiff condition. Needs some leather soap to condition it. This is a nice antique wicker fishing creel. The lower basket is perfect, however the cover is beat. It has an awesome patina, it has definitely seen many fishing excursions in it's time and well worth saving. There is nice hardware for the latch, with some new leather it can be saved also. Vintage Fishing Creel Basket Handbag Brass Fish closure handles Weave Wicker
Selling this vintage wicker creel. In good condition but the wicker is a bit dirty. It stands 7 inches high and 10 inches wide. Comes with brass fixtures and the front clasp is even in the shape of a fish. I think the basket may have come with a shoulder strap but it is no longer there.
