VINTAGE MINNO CANTEEN/BUCKET Up for auction is a Vintage Minno Canteen/Bucket that comes from an estate I think this was made by Oberlin and is from around 1956. It's in great shape for its age The metal screen on top turns. There are no holes or tears in the canvas. There are stains in the canvas which I think can be washed out. This is a real nice heavy canvas fishing creel by Coffman Sports of Denver Co. This creel measures 15"x 11"x 3" inches. It has a large vinyl lined compartment and a smaller zippered outer compartment that also has a vinyl liner. There are 2 outer storage pouches with snap closing flaps. There are 2 metal drain ports pressed into the bottom. The shoulder strap is adjustable. Graphics are good with instructions to"Soak well before fishing" to keep your catch cool. Though showing use its overall condition of this creel in good condition for its age. The bottom of the liner in the smaller outer pouch has duct tape across that indicates a repair was done some time ago. This is an interesting fishing creel from the 40's and 50's and quite different from canvas creels I have found. A nice heavy canvas fishing creel. Rectangular shape measuring 11 inches long by 9 inches high by 4 1/2 wide. This creel is in great shape with brass zippered closings. It has a zippered outside pouch and a inside pouch in addition to the creel basket. The creel has a screen bottom and screen ends. The shoulder strap is in good condition and also has a waist strap to keep the creel close to the body and out of the way. A good example of a typical inexpensive fishing creel used in Montana in the 40's. 50's and 60's. I have other canvas creels of the same vintage so be sure to check those out too. Nice old canvas fishing creel in good shape. It measures 14 inches wide by 11 inches tall. Rounded bottom with an inner pouch. The green canvas shoulder strap is solid and strong. It has a leather closing strap with a metal buckle. The leather is a little stiff but could be made pliable again easily. The screen is double stitched in place and well secured so none of your catch would slip away. About 2 1/2 inches of piping has un-stitched beneath the leather closing strap of the bags closing flap. A good example of a typical inexpensive fishing creel used in Montana in the 40's. 50's and 60's. It is in"found" condition. But I had recently broke the tail off These pics do not show this because i am having troubles with my camera, still claps but lower tail is off still have tail and the Strap seems to be all there. Theres a stamp into the leather on the back under the strap that says Geiger Est Maker 1953 Tacoma Seattle. This is an old used basket that was leathered. Even the bottom is covered with leather. Vintage Wicker Fishing Creel with Leather Strap & Metal Buckle
Vintage wicker fishing creel. The wicker is in outstanding condition. The leathe is a little bit dry. The buckle has separated from the leather although it looks like an easy fix. The buckly has a couple pins in it that look like they could be removed allowing the leather to be put back in and then closed and repined. The shoulder strap other than dry is in pretty good condition as well. The outstanding part of this creel is how good of condition the wicker is in. No breaks or ends sticking out. Vintage FISHING CREEL Great Leather Full Strap Working Buckle VERY GOOD SHAPE!
This is a vintage fishing creel with lots of leather in good shape with a good working buckle. It also has a complete strap. There are 2 places where I have found the leather was repaired so it was taken of in it's lifetime. There is a hole in basket weave next to the fish hole and that is the only hole on the creel. Some of the leather has come loose at the top and some of the stitching is missing in several spots, but the leather is loose in the one spot- at the hinge. The condition is really very good and it could still be used but probably needs retirement to save it in this great condition. We took 12 photos so you could see it all. Here's a beautiful condition leathered split willow basket low boy ladies creel with front pocket. The basket is in pristine shape with no breakage. The leather is all in beautiful shape shape as well. This was probably made in the mid 1950's. Beautifully made with pig skin leather and comes with a matching pig skin shoulder strap. The creel and shoulder strap are completely original and in super condition. It's 14 inches wide and 7 inches tall at it's tallest point. Would make a fine display piece or a fine creel to use.
